Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and salt.
- In a separate large bowl, beat butter and brown sugar until creamy.
- Add egg, vanilla, and molasses; mix until well combined.
- Gradually add dry ingredients, mixing until dough forms.
- Roll out dough on a floured surface to about 1/4 inch thickness.
- Cut into festive shapes with cookie cutters and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes or until edges are golden.
- Allow cookies to cool before decorating with icing and sprinkles.
Notes
- Chill dough for at least 1 hour for easier rolling.
- Decorate cookies once completely cooled for best icing adhesion.
