- 1 lb lean ground turkey
- 1 small onion, diced
- 1 bell pepper, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup tomato sauce
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp chili powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 whole wheat burger buns
- Fresh lettuce and tomato slices for topping
Instructions
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add diced onion and bell pepper, sauté until softened.
- Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute.
- Cook ground turkey until browned and cooked through, breaking it apart as it cooks.
- Stir in tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, chili powder, salt, and pepper.
- Simmer for 5 minutes to combine flavors.
- Toast burger buns lightly. Spoon the turkey mixture onto buns, top with lettuce and tomato, and serve hot.
Notes
- You can add a splash of hot sauce for extra flavor.
- Serve with baked sweet potato fries or a side salad.
