Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 8-inch round cake pans.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- Add milk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.
- Divide batter evenly into prepared pans and bake for 25-30 minutes. Cool completely on wire racks.
- Mix blackberries with blackberry jam to create a flavorful filling.
- Whip heavy cream with powdered sugar until stiff peaks form.
- Assemble cake layers with blackberry filling and spread whipped cream on top and sides.
- Decorate with fresh blackberries and edible gold flakes. Chill before serving.
