- 4 cups thinly sliced potatoes
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup grated Gruyère cheese
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 tsp fresh thyme leaves
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a baking dish with butter.
- Layer sliced potatoes in the dish, seasoning with salt, pepper, and garlic between layers.
- In a saucepan, heat heavy cream with butter and thyme until warm.
- Pour the cream mixture over the potatoes, then sprinkle with Gruyère and Parmesan cheeses.
- Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 15 minutes until golden and bubbly. Let rest before serving.
Notes
- For a crispier top, broil for 2-3 minutes at the end of baking.
- Use fresh thyme for enhanced flavor.
