- 2 lbs beef chuck, cut into cubes
- 2 tablespoons paprika
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon caraway seeds (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat. Brown the beef cubes until well caramelized. Remove and set aside.
- In the same pot, sauté onions and garlic until translucent. Add paprika and cook for another minute.
- Return beef to the pot, add tomato paste, and cook for 2 minutes.
- Pour in beef broth, add bell peppers, caraway seeds, salt, and pepper. Bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 1.5 to 2 hours until beef is tender and sauce thickens.
Notes
- You can add potatoes or carrots for extra heartiness.
- Serve with crusty bread or dumplings.
