Ingredients

  • 2 lbs beef chuck, cut into cubes
  • 2 tablespoons paprika
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon caraway seeds (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat. Brown the beef cubes until well caramelized. Remove and set aside.
  2. In the same pot, sauté onions and garlic until translucent. Add paprika and cook for another minute.
  3. Return beef to the pot, add tomato paste, and cook for 2 minutes.
  4. Pour in beef broth, add bell peppers, caraway seeds, salt, and pepper. Bring to a boil.
  5. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 1.5 to 2 hours until beef is tender and sauce thickens.

  • You can add potatoes or carrots for extra heartiness.
