- 40 crackers (preferably saltine or graham crackers)
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Arrange crackers evenly on the prepared baking sheet.
- In a saucepan, melt butter and brown sugar over medium heat, stirring constantly until the mixture boils. Continue boiling for 3 minutes.
- Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
- Pour caramel evenly over crackers, spreading gently.
- Bake for 10 minutes, then remove and sprinkle chocolate chips on top. Let sit for 2 minutes, then spread the melted chocolate evenly.
- Sprinkle chopped nuts over the chocolate, if using. Allow to cool completely before breaking into pieces.

- You can add sea salt on top for a sweet-salty variation.
